Meditating in the Moment

I’m still on the island of Koh Samui and am writing from one of the very few Vegetarian-only restaurants that I have spotted on the island. I have a clear view of a huge mountain with various Mom and Pop shops underneath that cater to the locals. The loud high pitched voices of Thai women chattering about the daily gossip and motorbikes speeding through the streets can be heard in the background. The aroma of street vendors cooking Thai delicacies on portable hot plates fill the air. Continue reading

The rubdown with an unhappy ending

I will admit that I’ve gotten a little beside myself with these cheap massages. I am feeling the need to indulge more often than not. As long as I don’t go over the daily budget that I’ve set for myself what’s the harm right?  Well, when it costs under $11 for one hour long oil and Thai massages you can see why I can’t help myself right? Focusing on my mission

So I’ve recovered from my Kunta Kinte border fiasco by laying low on an island named Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand and indulging in $5-11 massages. I usually have a “I don’t travel to any location twice” rule which is why I originally left this Island off my list for this journey but since it only cost $30 to get here I figured I break my rule for once.
