Queen of the jungle….

So I know you all have been on the edge of your seats trying to figure out where I am now.  Well I am in…………………

…………………..UMMMM

…………………..wait for it………………

……………..wait for it some more……………

Nosara, Costa Rica.  I got a great opportunity to come down here and train with a retired professional female boxer on her compound and I could not pass it up.  Boxing has been one of my favorite sports since I was a kid.  So much so that I started training about 4 or 5 years ago.

The property is set in the middle of a jungle.  There are trees, animals, more animals that I don’t recognize, plenty-o-bugs, 8 wood cabanas, a shared kitchen, and a boxing ring.  Yes, a boxing ring in the middle of a jungle.  It also just so happens to be a two minute walk away from the beach.  It really doesn’t get any better than this guys.  Well at least not for me :-)  I know I lost most of you after you read “animals” or “bugs” but try to stay focused on the rest of the post…

Nosara, specifically Playa Guiones, seems like a pretty chill place.  There are a TON of foreigners, mostly Americans, who have retired here.  I initially found the massive amount of foreigners to be a problem. For one I haven’t spoken as much Spanish as I had hoped to and secondly I think sometimes people tend to bring their “stateside views” to other countries.  Like the time when I was in a local store owned by a foreigner and she told another guy to keep an eye on me right after I walked in….but we won’t speak any more about that incident.  The people I have been introduced to by the owner are extremely nice.  The first day I arrived I met a few of her friends on the beach.  They were walking in a labyrinth circle and shaking maracas ever so lightly. It was positive energy exuding from each person. It was pretty interesting.

The property where I’m staying is very rustic but it has a tranquil vibe.  Two of the people who are staying here have been coming to this place for years and they love it.

I will fill you in more about the surroundings and such during my time here.  For now…the plan is to be here for at least one month to train but I’d ideally like to stay for two.  But we all have seen what happens when I make “plans” so I’m not going to do that anymore.  😉

Anywho, be well everyone….

Peace and Blessings,

Miss Venus
