I’ve been feeling a little disconnected lately. As I’ve said before Playa Guiones is filled with a TON of Americans and it feels like I’m vacationing in Florida somewhere. The living is a bit too easy for my tastes. I actually love to feel like I’m in a foreign land engaging in uncommon activities and dealing with the inconveniences that come with being in a foreign country. Who comes all the way to Central America to only speak English, gossip about the neighbors cheating husband, and hang out with grumpy Americans? I might as well be vacationing in Vegas somewhere.
My initial plan was to travel until my birthday in May 2013 but I’ve been feeling like I have completed this part of my journey. I am now second guessing my motives for continuing and all of the things that I initially enjoyed about traveling are starting to either annoy me. For instance meeting new people. I actually really enjoy learning about new people and experiencing new things but having to answer the SAME questions over and over (Where are you from, What do you do, How long have you been traveling, Where have you been, How much does it cost to travel that long….etc etc.)….320943209 times a day is just not “fun” anymore.
I really need to take a moment and pray about my next move. It may be time to hang up my travelin’ shoes pretty soon. Stay tuned!!
Life is about the journey and perhaps your life lessons for this chapter are coming to an end! Time to possibly even start another book! Hoorah!
