4 Continents, 12 Countries, 30 Cities…

Over the last few days I have thought long and hard about where I am at this point and what my next steps should be. I mentioned before that I wasn’t having “fun” anymore and who the heck wants to have this type of experience and not completely enjoy it?

I’ve been on the road since April and Lord knows I’ve had some experiences that I could not recreate even if I tried. I have traveled to so many places in such a short amount of time that I haven’t really had the chance to sit back and think about all of the amazing things I have done, seen, and the people I have met and been inspired by along the way. I initially set a duration of 13 months to travel the world and the decision to end the “overseas” portion of my journey was not made in haste. I’ve had my “aha” moment and feel like I’ve gathered all of the precious jewels I needed to collect in my treasure hunt around the globe.

As a direct result of this blog and my travels I have been blessed with so many wonderful opportunities. I have been featured in online publications and asked to speak at several events in the states. My words have also helped others to heal from their pasts as well. I never in a million years thought that my taking that first step to healing would lead me to where I am today.

Although I am hanging up my backpack and putting my passport in the safe (for a brief moment) my journey will not end here.  My loose plan is to return to the states to pick up my vehicle and my “stuff” and relocate to a random state and city within a week. (Look, I’m a pro that has moved and lived all over the world alone for the last 16 years…I can move to another country and set up shop within 48 hours ;-)). I have yet to decide on that location but it will definitely be somewhere I haven’t already lived, I don’t know anyone, I can write, train, and debrief (for lack of a better term). My stateside travel schedule will start in the spring and I’m really excited about that.

I will absolutely continue blogging as my journey is not over yet.  In fact I think my transition back to the states and the “real world” will be more of a challenge than my adventures abroad.

Lastly, once again I’d like to thank you all for hanging in there with me. This has definitely been one hell of a wild ride and I am so grateful to have had your support along the way.

Peace and Blessings,

Miss Venus
